Best Western Plus Sthlm Bromma is an eco-labeled hotel. We are constantly trying to find new areas we can improve. Environmental work is not a one-time effort but a continuous development. With us, you can check in with a clear conscience.
Green Key
We are eco-labeled with Green Key. Green Key, www.greenkey.global, is an international eco-label in the hospitality industry. Many people ask themselves how they can make an effort for the environment. It is actually very simple. You who choose to check in with us have done it. You choose a Green Key hotel - a good choice for you and an even better choice for the environment. Staying at a hotel that is eco-labeled with Green Key means that you choose to stay at a hotel that takes responsibility and has passed Green Key's strict environmental requirements.
The purpose of Green Key is to contribute to the work for sustainable consumption. The vision is that future generations have at least as good conditions to meet their needs as we have today. We care about the environment and your comfort. We help you as a guest to take care of the environment without compromising your experience or comfort with us.
Generation Waste
We are proud of our collaboration with Generation Waste - a collaboration where we work for reduced food waste, increased profitability and a better climate. Through a digital tool, we weigh our food waste daily in order to be able to take measures on how to reduce food waste.
Blue Flag
The Blue Flag is designed to be a support and a guide to raising the quality regarding water quality, maintenance and service, environmental education and safety. The criteria are set by FEE. There are two Blue Flag facilities in our vicinity: Pampas Marina ( https://www.pampas.se/ ) and Heleneborgs båtklubb ( https://heleneborgs.se/ )
Our environmental work
Here is a selection of what we at Best Western Plus Sthlm Bromma do to contribute to a better environment:
- Water consumption is minimized by using low-flush showers, taps and toilets.
- Cooking is carried out in the most water-efficient way possible.
- The amount of chemicals used is controlled with dosing measures.
- Daily cleaning is carried out completely without chemicals.
- The amount of waste that goes to incineration is limited by careful source sorting.
- Purchasing is adapted to current needs to avoid unnecessary waste.
- Energy consumption is minimized by reducing heat and air flow when a room is not in use.
- The lighting is automatically turned off when the guest leaves their room.
- TVs, copiers, stoves and other electrical equipment are energy-efficient models.
- When purchasing goods and services for the hotel, eco-labeled alternatives are chosen where possible.
- Idling max 1 minute.
Help us in our environmental work
You, as our guest, can also contribute to our environmental work. Here are some tips for your stay:
- Take smaller portions from our buffets and collect more often instead and you will help reduce food waste. Currently, we are forced to throw away about 30 kilos of food/day. To reduce the amount of dishes, please use your plate/cup/glass more times when you change the buffet.
- By using the towel for an additional day, we reduce detergent and energy and water consumption when washing.
- We change bed linen after three nights (if you stay longer than three nights). If you are staying longer and can imagine using the sheets longer, please let us know in the reception.
- By the elevators you will find a recycling bin for paper, plastic and flammables.
- Turn off the TV and unplug chargers from electrical outlets (this also reduces the risk of fire) when not in use. Remove the key card from the presence holder by the door when you leave the room and the lights will turn off.
- A 3-minute shower corresponds to an average of 36 liters of hot water, while a 10-minute shower uses approximately 120 liters of hot water. Save water and energy by showering for a shorter time.
- Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth.
Would you like to climate compensate for your stay by planting 20 trees that bind 1 ton of CO2? According to our calculations, a night at a Nordic hotel is assumed to cause approximately 7 kg of CO2 emissions. Climate compensate here.
